Welcome to the heart of Golf and Wine Country,
On behalf of the Columbia Basin and Yakima Valley Chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management, we welcome you to the 70th NHRMA Annual Conference & Tradeshow, September 16-18, 2008.
Our theme – United in One Vision - has a particularly special meaning this year. This year’s Conference is brought to you through the efforts of two SHRM Chapters. Co-hosting the NHRMA conference unites two Chapters, each contributing expertise and resources. It also showcases what we believe the Human Resource Profession represents, namely, people working together for a common goal.
United in One Vision also represents our journey as HR professionals. Our goal is to provide you with the tools you will need to travel the world of Human Resources. Whether you are a seasoned HR executive or new to the HR field, our Conference tracks will explore the many diverse subjects that make up our roles.
Our Pre-Conference workshops cover many topics, providing knowledge for our ever-changing global economy. Please join us for a wide selection of workshops including “The Bermuda Triangle of ADA, FMLA and Worker’s Compensation”, “Leadership Development 101”, and “Career Management”. Back by popular demand, Margaret Morford, one of our Keynote Speakers will again explore the Human Resource field and provide an enlightening and entertaining experience. Concurrent Workshops will provide learning opportunities in the Strategic, Employee/Labor Relations, Legal, Best Practices and Personal Growth/Credibility arenas. Networking opportunities will present themselves throughout the Conference. Again, people working together for a common goal. The Conference provides an opportunity for both Career and Personal Development for the HR Professional.
Plan on spending Tuesday evening at one of the area’s best wineries soaking up a typical Central Washington summer sunset. Wednesday night, the thrills of a Murder Mystery Dinner will be provided – with audience participation! The Fun Run/Walk can jump start your Wednesday morning. All these opportunities blend for a memorable time in an area that boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year.
