The Northwest Human Resource Management Association's (NHRMA) 70th Annual Conference and Tradeshow will be held in Kennewick, Washington at the Three Rivers Convention Center. HR professionals from across the Northwest will come together to learn about what is hot in HR and to network with their peers.

This is the first time the conference will be held in the Tri Cities of Kennewick, Richland and Pasco. The local chapters of the Society of Human Resource Management are excited and determined to host a very special conference to showcase the area. The conference will feature nationally-known speakers and is expected to draw over 550 HR decision-makers from top companies in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.

The NHRMA 70th Annual Conference and Tradeshow promises to be packed full of concurrent sessions and other opportunities highlighting a variety of HR issues, ideas, trends, challenges, and opportunities. It is a must attend event for today’s HR Professionals who want to add to their HR knowledge toolkit. This conference will be an excellent venue for networking with other HR professionals and subject matter experts, obtaining HR re-certification credits and an opportunity to have some fun.




Workshop Session Track Descriptions

The conference this year is providing six workshop tracks. The following are the tracks and a brief definition as defined by SHRM’s Competencies Toolkit:

Strategic Contribution – Ensures that human resource products and services support overall business goals.

Personal Growth/Credibility – Proactively seeks performance feedback and identifies approaches to improve own performance and learning and that of others. Demonstrates flexibility in applying different approaches to changing work demands.

Leadership Training – Identifies and addresses the critical needs of the overall business.

Employee/Labor Relations – Creates a team environment in which information flows freely and decision-making is based on a win-win philosophy.

Legal – Applies an understanding of key legal precedents, policies and practices to protect the interests of the organization and individual employees.




HRCI Certification

This program is approved for recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification requirements. Conference registrants who attend the three keynote presentations and all concurrent sessions can earn up to 12.5 recertification credit hours. In addition, one pre-conference workshop and 7 concurrent sessions have also been approved for global and/or strategic credit, as well as 2 of the general sessions; check the icons with the workshop descriptions for those sessions.

• Tuesday morning 4-hour Pre-Conference Intensive Workshops have been approved for 3.75 Recertification Credit Hours each.

• Tuesday afternoon 2-hour Pre-Conference Intensive Workshops have been approved for 2.0 Recertification Credit Hours each.



The use of this seal is not an endorsement by HRCI of the quality of the program. It means that this program has met HRCI’s criteria to be pre-approved for recertification credit.



A worksheet is provided on page 45 of the Conference Program book to record the sessions you attend.

Pre-conference workshops carry additional 2-4 credit hours each, and should be entered for recertification credit separately from overall Conference attendance. Certificates with the HRCI ID number, verifying attendance, will be provided to participants at the end of the pre-conference workshop.
